StudioWelcome to my studio!I do hope you will be able to visit my studio in the hills of Mono and choose to have your quilt 'Lightly Quilted' on my APQS Millenium long arm quilting machine. It is so important to complete your quilt in order to get enjoyment from it! Let me help you to enjoy your completed quilts.
Mary LightMy first quilting experience was in the early 1990's under the expert guidance of Sandy Small-Proudfoot. I completed a crib sized sampler entirely pieced and quilted by hand! As a busy stay at home mom to our four children I thought I would need to wait until I was a grandmother to engage in this fine craft. However I began to try machine piecing and reading everything I could find on the subject. My pile of quilted projects began to grow and I continued to feed my desire to learn more by devouring every quilting book at my local library in Shelburne, Ontario. Early in 1999 I joined a local quilt guild, Dufferin Piecemakers QG, and was both inspired and encouraged to refine my quilting skills. At the same time as I joined the guild my husband and I learned we were expecting our fifth child! With a ten year gap between our then youngest daughter and this baby I was brought back into the world of babies with surprise! Since my son's birth I have been able to continue quilting and have worked part time at a local quilt shop - Cobwebs & Caviar in Shelburne, Ontario. This has all been a natural progression to launching a machine quilting business in my home studio since I desire to be a stay at home mother to our youngest son.
